This document describes an activity where students make "Glaak" by combining laundry starch, salt, and glue. The resulting material has different properties than the original ingredients. When materials are combined, the new material's properties are not the same as the individual components. Students observe and describe the ingredients, then mix them to create Glaak. They answer questions about how the properties changed when the substances were combined.
