Types of Vandalism:<br />-posting graffiti in public places <br />-breaking or throwing items out of windows <br />-smashing mailboxes <br />-stealing <br />-trashing unguarded property, often empty buildings and/or lots and public<br />or semi-public toilet facilities; school property is often a target <br />-setting fires <br />-tampering with equipment, such as vending machines and pay telephones <br />-setting false fire alarms <br />-damaging parked cars <br />-damaging trees <br />Reasons for Vandalism<br />-binge drinking <br />-seeking money to buy drugs <br />-peer pressure <br />-feeling hostile towards the property owner <br />
Teenagers=Biggest Target<br />According to our survey, teenagers are the most suspected people to be targeted for vandalism. In the novel, Twisted, Tyler was caught for spray painting the sides of his school. Also, according to our survey, graffiti was the most thought of form of vandalism. <br />
In Twisted, Tyler Miller vandalized the school in order to get attention with his school peers and family. After he got in trouble for spray painting the school, his classmates looked at him differently, as if he became the schools “bad-ass”. <br />
