The document analyzes and compares two movie posters. It finds that the poster on the left is less effective than the poster on the right for several reasons. The poster on the left has too much blank space, features an obscure image that does not make the main actor recognizable, and has text formatting issues. In contrast, the poster on the right prominently features a recognizable actor, has eye-catching text relating to the theme, and uses effective image editing techniques.

6. COMPARISON
The poster on the left doesn't work at all in comparison to the one on the right. It has too much
blank black space, which in this case, does not seem to work. The image used is much too
obscure, and it isn't obvious, unlike the one on the right, that it is Daniel Radcliffe. He is
recognisable in the poster on the right and this will make people instantly relate to the poster
and want to see the film. The text on the right is really effective and relates to the ghostly
theme of the poster. There is also a strapline on the right hand side poster which is directly
addressing the viewer. The editing of the image is also a lot more effective, with a hint of
shadowing without completely obscuring his face like the poster on the left. The samefont is
used throughout the left hand side poster which doesn't seem to work and looks quite
amature. The word 'The' also does not line up with the other text on the poster which looks
really unprofessional and amature. The direct eye contact in the poster on the right is also a
lot more dramatic and striking, drawing in the viewer.
