  2. 2. What did we have before?<br />World-Wide Web ('The Web', WWW, or 'Web 1.0')<br />Only information was published, no interactions.<br />
  3. 3. What have we developed?<br />Today we have things called Web 2.0 (“Web two point oh”)<br />Which we can share, interact, collaborate and create. (can give opinions, normal people can type things down, not just the owner of the website.<br />
  4. 4. Web 2.0<br />Often called ‘Social Web’<br />Now often called 'Read-Write Web‘ because people can interact and share.<br />
  5. 5. Share information (pictures on facebook)<br />interact (comment, chat, etc.)<br />collaborate on content (e.g. creating pages on Wikipedia)<br />create their own content (e.g. videos (YouTube)<br />
  6. 6. Blogging?<br />When a normal person writes about a topic<br />People posting personal things to share with their family. <br />Allows someone to be a writer or a publisher.<br />Often someone’s opinion so it could be very wrong.<br />
  7. 7. Wikis<br />A place where information is provided <br />Eg. Wikipedia<br />Allows user to collaborate, edited by everyone<br />Could be used as an encyclopedia, or as help sites.<br />May not be entirely accurate, because it was posted by many different people with many different opinions<br />
  8. 8. Media Uploading Sites<br />There are many websites that users can upload and share their own media (Youtube videos)<br />People can rate, comment on those medias (interact)<br />Now often referred as “Social Media”<br />Although some times there are copyright rules.<br />
  9. 9. Social Networks<br />Social networks allows users to connect with other users, who are related to them (friends)<br />When connected, they can share information/pictures/files/message/chat <br />People use social networking sites to communicate eg. Facebook<br />
