FredSMC - Call For Presenters - Presentation Transcript

    1. Frederick County Chamber of Commerce – Social Media Conference Friday, June 5th ⋅ Holiday Inn & Conference Center CALL FOR PRESENTERS The Frederick County Chamber of Commerce will present an all-day conference to help area businesses learn how to use LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, blogs, and other social media to listen to customers, build relationships, make business & social connections, and gain valuable marketing exposure. Participants will self-identify as beginning, intermediate, or advanced users. Four concurrent sessions will be provided for all three groups. Presenters are needed for these 50-minute breakout sessions. (Please see the schedule and list of sessions, below.) Speakers who present at Chamber events are experts in their field. Their knowledge, and their willingness to share it with others, helps to create a high-quality learning experience for the professionals who participate in these trainings sessions. Our speakers are as passionate about the topics in their presentation as they are about serving the local business community. They generously donate their time and talent to help others become more successful. The Chamber’s planning committee will carefully consider each presentation proposal, with the goal of providing the best possible learning experience for our members. Please note: Presentations that are self-serving or self-promotional in nature are not appropriate for this educational conference. However, there will be a shared table in the lobby where speakers and presenters may display any promotional materials such as brochures, business cards, etc. Presenters also receive a complimentary registration, and may join the remainder of the conference as a participant if they wish to do so. CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS Beginners (100-level): Those who are unfamiliar with social media, and have little or no experience with blogs, social networks, etc. They’re not only wondering what social media is, but if it will be a useful tool for their business. Intermediate (200-level): Those who have some experience with social media. They may be reading blogs, and may be signed up for one or more social networks, mostly for personal use, and would like to transition to using it to promote their business. Advanced (300-level): Those who are already using social media. They may have a blog of their own, and/or sharing content on sites like YouTube or Flickr and/or maintaining profiles on social networks for personal or business use. They have an understanding of the technical and social aspects of new media, but want to learn how to use it more effectively to promote their business or professional identities.
    2. The Holiday Inn & Conference Center has space for four (4) breakout areas, including a larger space for the keynote and closing panel discussion.
