  • 1. An Effective Application Letter Should tell why the applicant wants to join the organization.. Should not duplicate the information stated in the resume.

  • 4. Appearance of an Application Letter  Create favorable first impression  Use plain-good quality paper  Show neatness, sense of design and composition and typing ability  Proofread and type accurately
  • 5. Outline of an Effective Application Letter Should Paragraph Firstbe businesslike in manner State the Paragraph Second qualifications Sell yourself Third Paragraph State your accomplishments Fourth Paragraph Request Paragraph Fifth for an appointment
  • 6. Filling In an Application Form  An application form in either before the interview or after it.  The application form will show your  Intelligence  Ability to follow directions  Completeness and legibility of penmanship
  • 7. Legibility Your handwriting must be readable. Any figure that you write should be clear.
  • 8. Remember: It will be a point against you if the interviewer experiences difficulty in reading your handwriting.
  • 9. Accuracy and Carefulness Recheck all information you have written. Do not leave blanks. Draw a line or mark it “NOT APPLICABLE” or “DOES NOT APPLY”.
  • 10. Be careful with spelling. Follow directions correctly. Avoid erasures. Avoid asking for an extra form.
  • 11. Job interview Purpose -For the company to find out who among the applicants is qualified for the job.

  • 13. Three days before Go over your resume aloud and practice answering interview questions. Dress for success.
  • 14. Two Days Before Get gorgeous!
  • 15. The Day Before  Confirm your appointment.  Ask for direction.  Put together an „Interview Kit‟ (bio-data, a pocketbook, eraser, coins, notebook and pen, xerox of TOR, etc.)  Take care of last-minute tasks.  Be good to yourself.
  • 16. The Day Before, DON‟T!!! Cut your bangs. Perm your hair. Overtire yourself.
  • 17. The BIG DAY!  Make sure you eat.  Accept that you will be somewhat edgy. YOU‟VE ARRIVE  Introduce yourself  Find a seat. Try to read.
  • 18. When you hear your name…
  • 19. Take a deep Breath Get up Smile
  • 20. THE HOURS AFTERWARD: Get up, shake hands and turn to go out the door. Hve something to look forward to. Avoid the instant-replay syndrome.
  • 21. The Next Day Keep things in perspective.
  • 22. Getting Ready for the Interview  Find out the exact place and time.  Visit the place before the interview.  Plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes ahead of the schedule.  Prepare your interview kit.  Be prepared to take skill tests.  Be very particular with your appearance.
  • 23.  Use cosmetics conservatively.  Wear clothes and accessories in good taste.  Use pleasing scents and perfumes.  Shoes and bags should be in matching color and style.  Don‟t become unduly worried.  Relax, prepare, self-confident and well-poised.
  • 24. During the Interview  It is normal to be nervous.  Take a deep breath before entering the room.  Avoid doing things with your hands that will make a tremor of your state.  Smile and greet the interviewer.  Wait until you are offered a seat.
  • 25.  Avoid mannerisms.  Be alert, smart, courteous and have a lot of common sense.  Be sincere in your manner of talking.  Be natural in your behavior.
