Recently in Jerusalem a monastery was defaced with Anti-Christian graffiti and
its front door was burnt. This act was believed to be done by pro-settler extremists
however; the reason for these acts is unknown.
This graffiti included the phrase “Jesus is a monkey” which was painted on the
monastery in orange letters, along with other phrases.A special investigation team has
been assigned to try to identify the suspects and forensic tests are being done. To the
dismay of the monastery, however, there are no leads yet.
Who defaced this monastery is not relevant when it comes to the reason why. For
someone to go and discriminate against another’s religion is morally wrong. Even if one
doesn’t agree with another’s beliefs they should try to respect them.
