Research and Planning InvestigationPresentation Transcript
Research and Planning Investigation
• Research and Planning is vital in developing and selling a media product.• Research is the systematic investigation into and study of materials and sources in order to establish facts and reach new conclusions. Planning is the process of preparing to do something.• This can be done via collecting surveys and data from one’s target audience in order to plan the product in relation to the target audience so that it will appeal to your target audience.
• When developing a horror film, research and planning is very important.• Research must be done first of all to recognise the common codes and conventions of the horror genre. Through understanding these codes and conventions, a professional looking horror film can be produced which is easily recognizable as of horror genre due to it’s codes and conventions.• The technical analysis of the product (Cinematography, Sound, Mise-en-scene, Editing) must represent horror genre and be easily seen as horror by the viewer.• Through collection of data from the target audience, these key features in creating a film must be planned suitably to fit the genre of horror, look professional, and appeal to the target audience.
