Pronombres relativos <ul><li>Para personas: </li></ul><ul><li>Who : The girl who is sitting next to you. </li></ul><ul><li>Whom : A man whom I don't know. </li></ul><ul><li>Cuando se refiere al Objeto de la oración </li></ul><ul><li>Whose: The film is about a man whose wife disappears </li></ul><ul><li>Posesión </li></ul>

Defining relative clauses <ul><li>Podemos sustituir who y which por that: </li></ul><ul><li>Do you know anyone who/that speaks English? </li></ul><ul><li>Cuando el pronombre relativo (who, which, that) NO es el sujeto de la oración, se puede omitir </li></ul><ul><li>Is that the book (that) I lent you? </li></ul>
  8. 8. Tipos de oraciones relativas <ul><li>Non-Defining (explicativas) : dan información adicional sobre una persona o cosa. La oración de relativo va separada por comas: </li></ul><ul><li>My mother, who lives in Madrid, is 65 years old </li></ul>
  9. 9. Non-Defining relative clauses <ul><li>No podemos utilizar that </li></ul><ul><li>John, who speaks French and Italian, works as a toursit guide. </li></ul><ul><li>No podemos omitir who o which </li></ul><ul><li>We stayed at the Grand Hotel, which Ann recommended to us. </li></ul>
