  • 3. Start small, then expand
    • Learn the technology and management with finite projects. Establish best practices, file management and preservation.
  • 4. It's a team activity History * Metadata* Technology Grants * Coordination
  • 5. Get everyone board!   Have everyone do what they enjoy! Let them run! Don't fear mistakes! Help is available!
  • 6. Avoid getting stuck
    • Budget time as well as money.  Grants are great for startup, but plan for future funding.
  • 7. Inventory your archives
    • Are they historically significant? unique? useful?
    • Organize and prioritize.
  • 8. Tell a story! Use images and words to tell the big picture.   Tell the story behind the images.
  • 9. Where we're heading
    • Genealogy index project
    • Switch from ContentDM to Omeka
