  5. 5. Getting your voice out there... new ways to be heard<br />Traditional media is hard to do<br />You can only physically speak to so many people a day<br />“The Internet” makes it possible to reach a massive audience… but how does an individual do it?<br />

The key sites<br />You have probably heard of them, but how are you using them?<br />Social Networks<br />Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter<br />Media Sharing<br />YouTube, Flickr, SlideShare<br />Social Bookmarking<br />Delicious, Digg, Stumble Upon<br />Free Blogging Tools<br />WordPress, Blogger<br />
  8. 8. You better be blogging<br />No Geeks Needed - It&apos;s easy to set up and use<br />You can get going for free<br />If you don’t blog, you don’t exist<br />
  9. 9. Speaking to a crowd, not yelling at a market<br />This is NOT the floor of the New York Stock Exchange<br />It’s Like Being At A Party<br />
  10. 10. This is a GREAT set of tools to engage in conversations<br />Listen as much as you speak<br />Find out what people are talking about<br />Flame thee not! (The Golden rule)<br />You can’t control the conversation… don’t try<br />

Start slowly, but start today!<br />There is nothing you can break<br />Take a few minutes to figure out what is unique about you… your “angle”<br />Have a photo of you (NOT your logo) that is friendly and approachable<br />Use it on all social media sites for consistency<br />Hang out on the sites, see how they flow<br />Pipe up when you have something to add<br />Forward/Share/Retweet when you see something interesting<br />Have fun!<br />
