  • Introduction
    • “ Wine has changed over the years after being a necessary part of the human diet to a luxury beverage to be enjoyed and appreciated.” With the development of biotechnology and transport improvement, wine has changed a lot in people’s daily life since 3000BC extensive cultivation and wine production in Egypt. Nowadays wine has become a essential part of people’s daily life. The reason why wine has become important is because it benefits people’s health for drinking. What’s more, it also can help people relax themselves after stress life as a social entertainment.
    • Wine as food
    • The wine’s flavor, taste and texture in the glass. The food’s flavor, taste and texture on the plate. It comes as no surprise that the worlds of wine and food are so closely linked.
    • Wine as a collector’s item
    • Once the domain of fanatics with discretionary income and room for a spacious cellar, wine collecting has caught on as a popular pastime with the younger generation. More and more people think about wine collection as their hobbies.
    • Wine not only as food but also as a collector’s item
    • Due to the wine development, wine play different parts of people’s life. Sometimes they appear on desks with food. Also they appear in wine cellar. They are so attractive, common and mystery.
  • Historical industry
    • That drinking wine has being a natural thing to do was in the Mediterranean due to its special smell and taste. It becomes main drink with food. In 2000BC, it arrived in Greece and became a centre of social life. Wine was known by its container, which benefit health a lot. Moreover, wine is not only a drink to have fish and chips, it match different food at restaurants. However, the big chance has come- wine only as food to wine as a collector’s item.
    • In 500BC, wine has been introduced into Spain, Portugal, Southern France and parts of Russia. Healthy and thriving vineyards existed throughout the Roman Empire. The introduction of hand-blown glass bottles revolutionized wine drinking as well as collecting and trading. Their widespread use began in early seventeenth-century England. Since that, wine has being an item of collectors for merchants to earn money. They stored valuable treasured. Wine was not just a 5 dollar bottle any more. Long time after, it can be for lunches at wineries, tourists came and enjoy the unique flavor. It brings chances for wine developing locally to internationally.
  • Current industry
    • “ Changes in income patterns, reflected in the development of consumer culture.” Modern wine development has improved rapidly with people’s life has accelerated. Technology allows better wine to be made cheaper, and the blurring of class difference means wine is perceived less as the drink of the elite in many countries. “The current catchphrase is, people drink less but drink better.” It shows that higher requirement of wine quality as food. Nowadays, people prefer purchasing wine with caring about the time. It has some relationship that makes it interesting and valuable.
    • The art of wine
    • People purchase wine not only because the wine age but also the art through the wine. The design of label and glass, which get people different feeling. Because of a corkscrew collection, a knowledge of wine history, a degree in viticulture, and a passion for wine and food-related objects, the business has become a leader in its field. The introduction of the wine label has become a important part of wine marketing.The label shows the story of the wine, and the bottle shows the feeling inside.
  • Influence on the world of wine
    • Matching food with wine
    • The difficulties on matching are that different meals are hard to choose the appropriate wine to get the best taste feeling. It encourages wine varies tastes development. Valuable tastes of wine are necessary to match food to get the delicious meal.
    • Chasing name-brand label
    • Many consumers pay attention to the label and ignore the taste of the wine. Maybe they just look for the label, but it does not represent the quality of the wine. It causes wineries pressure about the appearance of the label and bottle. So it becomes a big challenge for producer’s to let consumers learn about their taste of wine.
    • Quality improvement
    • Consumers require high quality of the wine, which benefits a lot about the improvement of wine technology. Keeping a high quality is essential for producers to maintain their sales. Consumers know more about the wine and understand how to distinguish bad from good.
    • Grape growing
    • With the development of winery& restaurant , consumers get more chances to get close with the grapes. Getting higher quality of grapes is an important way to improve the wine.
  • Challenges for the future
    • Wine Marketing
    • The reputation of wine is quite important is wine sales. So, the pressure of advertising getting higher for the producers. Label and bottle are necessary for them to design well. Otherwise, the wine will not be known by consumers.
    • Environment Pollution
    • There has being bad effects on grape growing because of global warming and water polluted. Pure water is the foundation of wine, technology is useless without pure water and high-quality grape. So, dealing with the environment pollution is still a tough problem to solve.
    • International Trade
    • As wine as a collector’s item, importing and exporting wine are important part of wine business. However, Global economic problems are disadvantages of international trading, which is bad for wine development. U.S. Dollar Devaluation influences the economic development, which decrease the exporting and importing wine from time to time.
