This document discusses 3-Hydroxypropionic Acid (3-HP) production process economics reports provided by Intratec. The reports examine the capital costs required to build an industrial plant, operating costs like raw materials and utilities, and production costs over a 4-year period. Intratec has reports on two specific 3-HP production processes - one using glucose syrup as a feedstock and one using raw sugar, with accompanying economic analyses for plant locations in the US and Brazil respectively. Intratec's methodology relies on extensive research and cost modeling to develop consistent and holistic process economic reports.

3-Hydroxypropionic Acid (3-HP) is an important feedstock for the biochemical industry. It is an isomer
of lactic acid and can be used in the production of acrylic acid and biodegradable polymers.
The Intratec portfolio (www.intratec.us/our-portfolio) includes reports examining specific 3-HP
production processes. Each report presents one-time costs associated with the construction of an
industrial plant and the continuing costs associated with the daily operation of such a plant. General
information included in our reports is presented below.

2. About our Methodology
Intratec has distilled the expertise gained from more than a decade supporting companies worldwide to devise consistent
methodologies, which ensures the development of holistic, coherent and consistent reports.
Intratec's highly experienced engineers start the development of process economics reports with in-depth, comprehensive research on
the technology examined, encompassing patents and available technical literature, non-confidential information provided by
technology licensors and Intratec's in-house database.
This exhaustive research provides a clear and consistent understanding of the process technology studied, including chemical,
biological and/or physical transformations occurring in the target process, as well as reactants required and products formation. That
knowledge is compiled into a detailed process block flow scheme and a mapping of key process input & output figures (including raw
materials consumption).
Finally, in the assessment of the economic figures of the process technology under analysis, Intratec’s team relies on an extensive in-
house database and robust cost models. Our cost models were founded on a number of established cost-estimating methods, based
on mathematical and statistical processing of an extensive volume of actual cost data of well-known industrial processes.

Reports Focused on 3-HP Production Economics
ECONOMICS OF 3-HYDROXYPROPIONIC ACID FROM GLUCOSE (3-HP E11A)
This report presents the economics of 3-Hydroxypropionic Acid (3-HPA) production from glucose syrup using a fermentation process
similar to the one developed by Cargill. The economic analysis provided assumes a plant located in the USA.
ECONOMICS OF 3-HYDROXYPROPIONIC ACID FROM RAW SUGAR (3-HP E12F)
The process reviewed in this study is the same as the examined in the report “3-HPA E11A” except that in this case, raw sugar is used
as the feedstock used in the fermentation. The economic assessment developed in this report is based on the construction of a plant
in Brazil.
