Student  SelecHon  Criteria   GRADUATE  STUDIES  PROGRAM  2012  (GSP12)  CLASS  STATISTICS:     •  3150  applicants:  selected  22  compe44on  winners  from  17  Global  Impact  Compe44ons  (with   over  1000  projects  &  contestants)  worldwide;  58  par4cipants  from  direct  applica4on  process.           •  80  selected:  2.5%  acceptance  rate.  34  different  country  ci4zenships  represented.  Over  60%   have  a  masters  degree  or  higher,  and  at  least  10%  are  currently  in  PhD  or  equivalent  programs.   Represented  universi4es  include  Cambridge  and  Oxford,  Yale,  Harvard,  Stanford,    MIT,  etc.   Over  40%  are  women  -­‐  the  highest  percentage  ever  in  a  Singularity  program.  Students  are  selected  based  on  three  criteria:       Demonstrated   Passionate  about   Top  in  their  field   Entrepreneurs/Leaders   Grand  Challenges       academically           Students  are  selected   Students  must  be   Show  a  thirst  and   into  1  of  the  10  Tracks   demonstrated  entrepreneurs   commitment  to     and  must  be  in  the  top  of   or  leaders  (having  founded   address  humanity’s   their  class   companies,  research  projects   grand  challenges  and     and/or  organiza?ons)   opportuni4es     |  Internal  Confiden4al  Dra6  |  Not  for  Duplica4on/Distribu4on  |  Copyright  Singularity  University  2007-­‐10  |    4/13/10   5 5
