Jekyll <ul><li>Jekyll is modern re-imagining of the story of Jekyll and Hyde . </li></ul><ul><li>Although a lot more subtle than the original novel and early films it still provides audiences with a range of experiences and provokes emotional response. </li></ul><ul><li>Watch the following five minute extract and make a note of the main emotions you experience. </li></ul>
  3. 3. Reactions <ul><li>As you can see we have experienced a wide range of emotions in just a short extract. But what is causing this? </li></ul><ul><li>The writers, crew and cast have all worked together to try and evoke the same reactions. </li></ul><ul><li>Watch the extract once more and try to identify what techniques have been used to cause your reactions. </li></ul><ul><li>Try to be as specific as possible in your descriptions. </li></ul>

Summary <ul><li>Every single aspect of the production has been working together in order to make the have an emotional response from fear to laughter. </li></ul><ul><li>This was only possible through a combination of: </li></ul><ul><li>Editing </li></ul><ul><li>Lighting </li></ul><ul><li>Sound </li></ul><ul><li>Cinematography (use of the camera) </li></ul><ul><li>Mise en Scene : Costume/Props/Performance </li></ul><ul><li>Colour </li></ul><ul><li>SFX </li></ul>
  5. 5. Codes <ul><li>These elements are known as codes. </li></ul><ul><li>Over the next few lessons we will be exploring these elements and learning the meanings and connotations of each. </li></ul>
