What is abuse?<br />Abuse takes in many forms.<br />It can be physical, sexual , emotional, verbal, and also neglect. <br />Permitting harmful contact on the victim’s body or verbally accusing the victim that will humiliate or bring shame to the victim.<br />All abuse could result to serious consequence that will lead to mental illnesses or even death.<br />
When parents or guardians fail to care for their own child.<br />When they rather to be out working or clubbing then making sure that their child gets food on their table 3 times a day.<br />When they totally ignore their child.<br />Neglect happens….<br />

Happens when one person intentionally does to another that cause physical pain.<br />This includes slapping, punching, pinching, etc…<br />It can be also caused by permitting harmful objects to a child’s body.<br />Basically, anything that is done intentionally which will cause the child to have wounds and bruises are physical abuse.<br />Physical Abuse<br />
When child is molested or raped<br />When a child is harmed sexually.<br />Showing children pornography.<br />Intentionally engaging in sexual activity in front of a child.<br />Encourage child to engage in prostitution.<br />Sexual Abuse<br />
Also known as reviling or bullying.<br />When words are used to attack, control, and inflict harm on another person.<br />It is when abusers abuse their victims with words that humiliates or put down the victim.<br />Example:<br /> -Saying harmful things directly from the mouth.<br />Through social networks. <br /> (known as cyber-bullying)<br />Verbal Abuse<br />
Parents who abuse their children usually have problems coping with their stress and sometimes thinks that taking it out on their children is okay.<br />Parents with anger issues or problems that will lead them to abuse their children.<br />Parents/adults who uses physical punishment to discipline their children and crosses the border line. (There is such thing as too much)<br />60% of child abusers were once a victim.<br />So, what causes these abuse?<br />
Psychological Problems<br />Child will grow up in fear.<br />Possibility of having mental health problems. Exp: depression<br />Might act in a behavior that harms the body<br />Social Problems<br />Low self-esteem<br />Low confidence at self or other people.<br />Serious Problems<br />Suicide and death<br />There is a possibility that child abuse victim will grow up and abuse their own children.<br />Consequences<br />

Now we have a call Centre with trained Childline Support Officers who are equipped to handle calls from children 24 hours a day, 376 days a year.<br />We now have to accelerate the promotion of this number to as many children as possible. It is important that children know this number so that they can call 15999Childline and there will be someone to listen to them and help them.<br />We are asking for your help in disseminating this number to as many people in he community as possible - either through emails or direct contact. We are trying to reach out to a portion of the 2.2 million children who have some form of mental health problems.
