  • 1. In a P.e class there is plenty of opportunitiesfor the stars to show off their sportingability. I’m sure that you can identify thesechildren from your P.e classes at school ormaybe you were one of these students?Unfortunately some P.e teachers take thesestudents under their wing allowing forfavoritism to occur and the not so talentedstudents to fall behind and therefore ‘Standon the sideline’.
  • 2. Reasons why children may not participate:• Undeveloped skills • Students being bullied• Over competitive • Disabled environment • Overweight• Lack of social skills• Fear of failure• Feeling self-conscious• Mixed gender classes
  • 3. Importance of child participation in pe: -Promotes life long healthy attitudes -Increases confidence, self-esteem, self control and social skills -Improves co-ordination -Helps reduce stress -Helps maintain weight -Promotes good health -Develop life skills and activities -Decreases the risks of health issues -Improves muscular strength, flexibility and endurance -Help develop and achieve personal goals
