  • 2. What is a Crown? A dental crown, sometimes called a cap, is a restoration that covers a tooth to provide added strength. The primary purposes are:! ✤ !Restore a tooth’s strength.! ✤ !Provide support for an appliance.! ✤ !Improve the way the tooth looks.
