1. Ali Baba and The Forty Thieves
VS.
Aladdin
Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves and Aladdin are similar and different
in many ways.
One of the similarities is that they are both Arabian folktales. Arabian
folktales were created a long time ago and are still around today. Some
Arabian countries are, Yemen, Iraq, Uzbekistan, and Iran.
They both have thieves. Thieves have been around forever. They steal
things from people and sometimes sell the from money.
Also, they both have a trickster. In Ali Baba the trickster is Morgiana.
And in Aladdin the trickster is somewhat Aladdin but mostly Jafar.
Ali Baba and Aladdin also had some differences, like.
In Aladdin there was a genie who helped Aladdin with what he wanted
and needed. In Ali Baba Morgiana is like a genie because she helps Ali
Baba when he is getting attacked.
Another difference is that there is talking animals in Aladdin. This
makes it somewhat a fairytale, where Ali Baba is more of a folktale.
And one last difference is that Aladdin didn’t have to say ‘Open
sesame’. He just had to enter its mouth and walk down the stairs.
Now that I have compared and contrasted both stories I can conclude
that Ali Baba and Aladdin are similar and different in many different ways. I
liked Aladdin better because reading isn’t fun for me so I pay less attention.
