I want to be real, Virtual experiences - Presentation Transcript

    1. The Event Marketing, Boutique I want to be real Virtual Experiences
    2. Can I ask you a simple question?
    3. What do you prefer, virtual sex or live sex?
    4. Well, if I can not have live sex, virtual is a good substitute… Don´t you think so?
    5. So…Yes! Virtual... We live in a global world where people from different parts of the planet can meet, relate and do business. As we know Live events, or also called physical events, are the best way to communicate, in both ways, one- to-one and one-to-many. So, if there are tools that are starting to help in that, why don’t we use them? In the next slides I will try to give some macro- facts and understanding about today’s state of the Virtual Events’ Art. Sincerely, Juan Pablo Sánchez
    6. What are you looking for? This is not a discussion about the sensations and realism physical events offer and how and if you can or not reproduce them in a virtual environment. It is about how we can use virtual, knowing it ´s not a 100% substitute, as technology is not at this level yet. Nevertheless, virtual events can achieve objectives like: Lead and Demand Generation Create Dialogs Product demonstrations Brand Objectives (awareness, positioning, values, preferences, etc.)
    7. Why Virtual is going to be real
    8. Why Virtual is going to be real Today’s down economy paralyzes travel budgets and tradeshows. Event planners need a way out. Event professionals are under fire to produce critical ROI at all cost and condition. Budgets are cut down more than 50% for tradeshows and business travels. 76% of marketers would start new and / or replace physical events by virtual events. Virtual events will become part of the marketing toolbox. There could be 100.000 annual Virtual events by 2011.
    9. The Boom Virtual events started with standalone digital events, seminars, conferences and tradeshows. Microsoft is producing online programs all around the world, right now. Attendee’s number is massive. Conversations are often longer than in live events. Lead generation numbers are higher.
    10. The amplification Custom websites are becoming the center of the engagement sequence. Internet is becoming the starting touch point before and after a live event. Social elements like flickr or twitter are playing a big role of hubs and connectors. Virtual can also be the amplifier of physical events.
    11. The Virtual Actors Virtual Conferences / Seminars B2C Virtual Worlds Virtual Expos Virtual Exhibits Digital B2E PR Events
    12. Virtual Conferences / Seminars One or more days duration. Free or paid registration. Feature a mix of education and networking. Live cycle preparation is the same as in physical events. Autodesk is using a virtual conference to increase a live roadshow. This conference saved 895 tons of co2.
    13. Virtual Expos Digital 3D representation of a traditional floor plan. Digital exposition hall in which partners set-up virtual booths. Cisco offers a virtual trade show experience as part of its Cisco Live event. The number of attendees can be amplified by running the virtual and physical events simultaneously.
    14. Virtual Exhibits 3D floor plans. Variety of options in order to personalize your booth. Possibility to meet new prospects all around the world. Opportunity to have conversations and lead generation without the traditional exhibiting cost.
    15. Digital B2E Sales forces or new employees training. Also used for “live training”. Regional sales are starting to be virtual with the consequent cost reduction. IT companies are the early adopters of this type of events, like Red Hat. Time, money and green footprint are some of the advantages. Motivation events can not achieve its objective in a virtual experience today.
    16. Press Events They can take an extra mille of advantage as more an more Press don´t want to “go”. Staged for a variety of purposes. Product launches, investors presentations, corporate announcements. All media can be recorded online and given to the press in a wide range of means (sound, AV, PPT or multimedia documents)
    17. B2C Virtual Worlds Consumer experiences are taking place more an more online. Second Live is one of the more common tools. World of Warcraft is starting to be used widespread. Video games are becoming an excellent platform to establish this dialog with the audience (Xbox, Wii, PSP…) Advergaming was the starting point. Now, we have authentic virtual worlds in front of which consumers start to spend more time than onTV.
    18. The Benefits of Virtual Events Relevance. Length of engagement. Measurability. Longer lead lifespan. Local to Global.
