    This is a TIMED, ON DEMAND, ESSAY ASSESSMENT. You will have 65 minutes to complete the essay, so pace yourself.
    Review the 9-Point Rubric ion pages 10—11 of the Student Guide 1. This will be used to evaluate your essay.
    Read “The Man to send Rain Clouds” by Leslie Marmon Silko on pages 49—52 of the yellow The Language of Literature text.
    Respond to the following prompt:
    • In a well-developed essay, identify similarities and differences of style, subject and theme in The Way from Rainy Mountain and Leslie Marmon Silko’s story "The Man to Send Rain Clouds".
    • 5. An exemplary analysis will consider each authors’ use of imagery, details, and language (figurative, as well as, diction). Your essay should demonstrate your comprehension of both selections and understanding and application of the rhetoric card terms.
