    • Felicia Marie Jordan is my wonderful name my parents gave me when I was born. I am 13 Years old . I have beautiful light brown hair and sparkling brown eyes. I am five foot tall. My family and I sailed here from Spain. My friends tell me I am a sweet, caring girl. I love to help with many chores around the house.
  • 3. My mother’s name is Molly Ann Jordan . She has sparkling blonde hair and beautiful light blue eyes. My father’s name is Gage Buddy Jordan. He has a little light brown hair and ocean blue eyes. My sister’s name is Anna Bell Jordan. She has flowing blond hair and sparkling blue eyes. We are a loving and caring family. We care for everyone in our town. We have a loving dog, Buddy. He is a golden retriever. My father named him after his middle name.

    • My father and my Grandfather made our house. They started making it when we got to the new land. Our house has two bedrooms and a kitchen. Our house is not very big. We have a wonderful house that we live in.

    • Our clothing is made out of cotton. We do not have many materials to choose from. I wear dresses. The boys usually wear black pants. My mother always makes me wear a dress. We did not have nice dress shoes .
  • 6.
    • My father is a blacksmith. He makes many things for our town. He makes horseshoes, shovels, fences, and pots to cook. He makes things that helps people around our town. My father is a helpful person. He helps everyone work with the things they buy from him.

    • My mother helps with nursing. She helps everyone around our town. My mother was helping my little sister Anna with her cough last week. My mother loves helping people get better when they are sick. My mother likes to help people.
  • 8.
    • I have many chores that I do during the day. My chores are to do dishes, make candles, help make husk dolls, and make clothes with Mother. My sister has to help do chores, too.
  • 9.
    • We play many games outside in the back field. We love to ply hide-n-seek. When mother is busy and she does not need my help I take Anna outside to play ball in a cup. When my father gets home from work he comes outside and plays ball in a cup with my sister and me.
  • 10.
    • Although we do not have that much money, my mother and father still put food on the table. For breakfast we have a biscuit and an egg or two and some milk to drink. For lunch we have vegetable soup and leftovers from breakfast. For supper we have some meat and what is left over from lunch.

    • Our school is a one room school. All the children that go to the school are in different grades. Many kids’ mothers and fathers made their children go to school. We do not have many school supplies. We have a quill and ink to write with.
  • 12.
    • I have not misbehaved much. I have only misbehaved once or twice. When I misbehave, Father gets the paddle and whips me. Anna is always getting in trouble by Father. Anna has been in trouble more than twice.
  • 13.
    • When people get sick we use herbs and other plants to heal them . The plants are grown in gardens. Mother has some of these special plants growing in her garden. When we get sick our mother would get some special plants from the garden to help us feel better. My mother helps everyone around town when they get sick. If my sister and I get a fever my mother puts damp rags on our faces to cool us down. So my sister and I try to stay healthy.

    • I absolutely love going to church. We learn all about the Lord and all he has done for us. I believe that if it was not for the Lord we would not have made it to America. All of the children love going to church.
  • 15.
    • There are many laws that you should not break. If you break any of the laws you have to pay the price. If you kill somebody you will most likely get a death sentence. If you steal you will have a worse punishment.
  • 16.
    • I hope you enjoyed my story as much as I did. I dedicated this book to my Mother and Father.
