Where am I today?
Currently, H.R. 17 has been referred to a committee, which is
like a "sub congress" and are also the people whom bring this
bill to congress. The committee's that currently are looking this
bill over are the House Judiciary and House Judiciary;
Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism, and Homeland Security.
A perspective you wouldn't think of...
As a student, and also a 17 year old male I know for a fact I am
legally not able to buy or own a firearm in the state of
Pennsylvania, unless it's for hunting purposes and even then it
is to be kept in a locked up place. However, my father legally
owns and posses two of them, which are kept in a locked box
within my house. Although this bill has yet to be passed, from
what I read, I know this bill will go in hand in hand with the
citizen's right to bear arms. Also, this will build a foundation for
people [pending approval] applying for a permit to carry said
firearm(s) will make it easier for them to obtain it [permit].
Under this bill, people will not be charged for protecting their
home should a robbery or break-in occur.
