      • What exactly is time?

    4. Time is not Money
      • You can’t get time back
      • You can’t save time
      • You can’t make more of it
      • Do something for money, not for time
      • Time is priceless. You can’t buy time.
    5. Time & Money Defined
      • Dictionary
      • Money = a divisible, durable, scarce storer and measure of wealth. A currency that helps the process of allocating resources. A way to determine the value of goods and services. Means to which resources can be acquired. A medium of exchange to purchase good and services.
    6. Time & Money Defined
      • Dictionary
      • Time = direction of the deterministic increase entropy in a closed system. A continuous method of measuring the limited existence of objects in the universe. A tool that is imagined for organizational purposes. Dimensional quality to specify an event. An instance or single occasion for some event.
    7. My Definition of Money
      • Money =
      • a mechanism designed to measure and store our ability to create value
      3. Spend value 2. Store Value 1. Create value by creating something at work by getting paid in the form of money in the form of money at a later time
    8. My Definition of Time
      • Time =
      • a mechanism designed to measure our ability to eliminate space/distance between two events (event #1: where someone/thing is and event #2: where someone/thing wants to be)
      Point A = where someone/thing currently is A Point B = where someone/thing want to be B I’ll be home in 15 minutes I’m 3 years away from graduation
    9. Value Creation
      • Business creates value……….……..Service
      • Business captures value……….….+ $100/hr
      • Business pay employee….………... - $60/hr
      • Business pay all bills……..………… - $20/hr
      • Business profits………………………+ $20/hr
_____________________________________________________________ By doing something customer couldn’t do for self as well By charging the customer a price for the service By giving them a wage for their service
    10. Who’s a better time manager?
      • The person who says it will take them 2 hours but takes 3?
      • The person who says it will take them 4 hours and takes 4?
Though Person A finishes faster, Person B creates enough space for them to get what they needed done based on their knowledge of themselves which makes them a better time manager/budgeter.
    11. Manage Time. Make Money.
      • CEO on the top floor
      • Makes $100/hr
      • The company thinks that he is critical to get them from A to B fast
Janitor in the basement Makes $30/hr The company doesn’t think that he is critical to get them from A to B
    12. Everything Cost Time
      • How much does a $300 cell phone cost…
… to the CEO who makes $100/hr? … to the janitor who make $30/hr? 3 hours 10 hours That cell phone costs a lot of time! That cell phone didn’t cost much!
    13. Understanding Velocity Velocity = Distance Time New York, NY---------------------------------------> Boston, MA Airplane $130 1 1/2 hour A B Train $100 3 hour Bus $25 4 hour
    14. Your Personal Velocity Personal Velocity = Distance Time Money Time $$$ Hour Personal velocity = our ability to powerfully close space between two events for ourselves, another person, or another entity (ie employer) In order for us to create and capture the most value, we must find “that thing” which we do, where our personal velocity is it at its highest.
    15. Affirmation of Time My time is my most valuable resource. Like money, I will save it, invest it, and spend it wisely.
