    • This gage will let you know when you are done filling out your profile completely

    • Your profile is searchable on Google
  • 4. Spelling on your profile
    • Spelling counts
    • Your potential future employer will notice if you have spelling errors
    • Your profile is your online resume and more on LinkedIn
  • 5. What do you talk about on LinkedIn?
    • Share articles that helpful in your profession
    • Add your expertise to the article, comment on groups that provide your expertise
    • Find others that do what you do and network online
    • Listen
  • 6. Give and Get Recommended
    • Give a recommendation to a contact you have worked with
    • Get a recommendation with those you have worked with that can give you a glowing review
    • This will help potential employers or referrers see how people perceive your work
  • 7. Professional Photos
    • Photos matter
    • Get a professional headshot done or have a friend take a nice photo of you dressed professionally
  • 8. Customize your URL
    • For example: www.linkedin.com/yourname
    • Use "Edit Profile" and click "Public Profile", you will see "Your current URL"- You will be able to change that URL to one that is not currently taken
    • You can use your custom URL on your business cards and on your resume
