Power of PrayerWhat other elements are involved? Having a pure heart before God. Having a sincere love for God’s people and a desire to lead them into worship. Having a humble spirit. Sensitivity to the Spirit of God

Things to Consider when Preparing for Worship Power of Preparation• Theme – Know the theme of the service, church, year, sermon topic, etc, which is essential to proper song selection.• Rehearsal – should occur on a regular basis• Communication -- With God (Proverbs 16:3) With the Pastor (Proverbs 15:22)• Focus – Worship should never be based solely on emotion• Excellence – Pursue excellence in worship by leading with your whole heart. (Colossians 3:23,24)
Proverbs 16:3“Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”
Proverbs 15:22“Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisers they succeed.”
Colossians 3:23, 24“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as tothe Lord and not to men, knowing that fromthe Lord you will receive the reward of theinheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ.”
Power of Preparation• Know the importance of the part you play as a singer/psalmist.• In other words, come to rehearsal prepared with the following….
• Be punctual for rehearsal Power of Preparation• Bring tape recorders to rehearsal• Take notes during rehearsal• Have the proper attitude by remaining teachable• Study your music/parts/lyrics during personal time• Read and meditate on any related scriptures prior to rehearsal• Be yielded to the Spirit of the God and the direction of the Pastor
Power of WorshipIn order to realize the true powerof worship, UNITY isessential(Psalm 133).• Unity between the Worship Leader and Pastor• Unity between the praise team, choir and minister of music
Power of WorshipWorship:• Is a time when we pray deeply, sincerely, showing love and fear to God• Causes us to reflect on the majesty and goodness of God, contrasted to our own unworthiness
Power of WorshipWorship:• Draws us closer to Christ• Causes us to become more like Christ• Causes us to humble ourselves before God
