Facial Expression Enhancement Sakshi Srivastava- srvstvv2@illinois.edu Mentor: Jia-Bin Huang jbhuang1@illinois.edu Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign Problem and Our Goal • Undesired facial expressions spoiling photographs • Altering undesired expressions in photographs by transferring facial components from one photograph to another. [1] [2] Landmark Based Transfer Appearance Based Transfer • Creating face morphs by using multiple images as references. • It utilizes the availability of a large • 3D model to align the faces dataset. • Transfers the 2D expression flow. Our method : Landmark and Appearance Based Transfer Description- Plans to Accomplish The Task Utilizes The Availability of a Large Dataset to Tackle Large Pose Differences. Creates Ming Faces for Ranges of Angles R’ J E T’ Reference Image * This is not the result- This is the expected working*. Target Image Desired OutputT’ and R’- Neutralize the Expression; Pose Constant. J- 3D Rotation of The Reference Image. E-Computing Expression Flow Comparison With Other Methods Experiment Method Landmark Appearance Our Method • Group face photos according to pose to Based Based Properties Transfer Transfer create a prototype face subspace. • Use 3D rotation on the reference image to reach a pose difference=0 • Use Appearance based component transfer. Pose Conclusion and Future Work • Extend the method to perform the transfer Expression between images of people from different ethnicity.
