  2. 2. Futures Wheel <ul><li>Can be used to discover positive and negative ripple effects of an event, concept, innovation etc </li></ul><ul><li>We’ll do a two layer Futures Wheel after this example </li></ul>

  4. 4. Topic <ul><li>Write the name of the task, event, concept, innovation in the centre of the wheel </li></ul><ul><li>ie. Getting a cat </li></ul>
  5. 5. First Layer <ul><li>Write two positives and two negatives about the topic around the topic </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Cat will play beautiful music on tuba </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><li>Cat will need someone to take care of it when we are on vacation </li></ul></ul><ul><li>Discuss your positives and negatives </li></ul>

Second Layer <ul><li>Attached to each positive, attach another positive and one negative that are related to the first layer </li></ul><ul><ul><li>Cat will play beautiful music on tuba </li></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>+ We will get on Tonight Show </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><ul><ul><li>- Neighbours don’t like our tuba music currently </li></ul></ul></ul><ul><li>On each negative, attach another negative and one positive that are related related to the first layer </li></ul>
  7. 7. Present <ul><li>At end of exercise we’ll ask the tables to present their top + and top - from your first two layers </li></ul><ul><li>You could continue with third layer etc. </li></ul>

Your Table Topic: BYOD <ul><li>What are the ripple effects of BYOD </li></ul><ul><li>BYOD: Bring your own device (technology, smartphone, laptop, tablet...) </li></ul><ul><li>AKA bring your own tech, personally owned devices (BYOT, PODs) </li></ul><ul><li>10 minutes per layer + presentations </li></ul>
