Version 11.0 introduces Project Management, an Activity Stream, reports, flexible access permissions, and a well-equipped CRM. But that's far from all.
With an ingenious system of access permissions, Extranet users only see the workgroups to which they belong and their own user profiles, while employees are able to see clearly-marked Extranet activity (of the Extranet groups to which they belong) in the regular Activity Stream and in their usual Task list. Also of importance is that individual workgroups may be moved to the Extranet, so the client can be added to the group when the time is right, but not earlier.
Calendars have a significantly updated user interface that simplifies work with events. For users and workgroups, tasks can be displayed in the calendar grid, which helps with planning and assessing the current work load. In the Social Intranet template, the versatile Create button can initiate a new event on the user’s personal calendar. Furthermore, themed calendars can be made available to specific users or user groups.
What is the difference between the templates?
The new Social Intranet template greatly simplifies navigation and reduces the time needed for new employees to get completely comfortable in the environment. All tools, buttons, menus, etc. are intuitive and features like document sharing and tasks present powerful but simple interfaces.
Both the Classic Intranet template (the traditional product's template) and the new Social Intranet template are available for the onsite version of Bitrix Intranet. We do recommend the Social Intranet interface for companies looking to harness the 'social' feel of an intranet without sacrificing the extensive tools available in the product.
Did you know: The original Social Intranet template was developed for a cloud service called Bitrix24.
