PharmD/MBA Concurrent Track• PharmD students have both the interest and the time to concurrently pursue the MBA• MBA Accommodations include: – Pha 503 will suffice for Bus 652 – Pha 502 (2 hrs) and Pha 708 (2 hrs.) will suffice for Bus 601 (3 hrs) – Students would systematically take MBA classes as their electives (prescribed by PharmD per semester)• Resulting in: – PharmD students could earn 15 hours (Substitute and elective hours) toward MBA concurrently. – Remaining MBA hours would be taken at their discretion.
Revisit Admission Req.• GMAT? Most all comparative programs require it. – Sister schools – Regional Schools• GPA progression – Work Experience caveat – Provisional Adjustment for GPA/GMAT
Compentence ProvisionsFor example, a CPA might replace Acct 655 with an elective of their choice. – Practicality – Accreditation Concerns? • CPC components would still need to be covered • This might be difficult to document – Impending Readiness Decision might impact this decision?
Readiness (Leveling) Revisions• Economics has been dropped as a leveling requirement.• New vendor (Ivy Software) provides for all students to take a pretest in order to determine their readiness for accounting, QBA, and finance areas.• Those not making 80% on the pretest must take the $50 readiness module and pass the posttest.
Pros and Cons• Pros – All students would be, theoretically, at similar point when sitting in our corresponding core course. – Students will have the refresher course, if needed, and may be prepared to do better – Assessment value• Cons – May have to take the module, though have taken a course previously – Have to pay for the pre-test – May have to pay for module ($50)
Turnitin Requirement• Now required for all portfolio artifacts• All students “experience” Turnitin in Mgt 600• Guidelines – Very general guidelines are needed, suggestions?
