OUR MISSION:
To create a lasting Net Positive Impact ("NPI") in developing communities around the world by building skills and independence through training workshops for children and adults
training • development • cross-cultural relationships

HOW IT WORKS:
We have a network of experienced professionals who are already traveling the world.
We provide materials and plans for them to give free training in education, healthcare, business skills and the arts.
We work with partners and local leaders to ensure that the training is valuable and creates sustainable programs in their communities.
We are a 501(c)3 registered non-profit, with no government, corporate or religious affiliations.

WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
Our volunteer trainers have achieved a level of success & experience in their personal lives. They are now traveling the world and wish to create a positive impact,and build meaningful relationships in the communities they visit.

Workshops are ~1 week and focus on training people in your community who can then train others

SAMPLE PROGRAM: PHOTOGRAPHY
How it works:
WHO: Experienced travel photographers
WHAT: Train children in creative photography,
Provide free cameras & supplies
FOR: Children at schools / orphanages in developing communities

RESULTS
In 2009, the images from 11 orphan children in Rwanda:
Displayed in 3 galleries in New York
On show at the United Nations
Published in The Overland Journal
Created & sold a custom calendar
Raising over $2,000 for these 11 childrenby and forthemselves.
all images shown were taken by the children of the Eyes Of Hope Project in Rwanda

How the Program can work in your Community:
We will work with your school / community to review and customize the workshop curriculum, timing & student selection.
Parents, teachers, and other leaders are involved to help maintain the program.
Creative outlet: students find personal expression and build a portfolio which becomes the basis for applications to art schools, photography apprenticeships
Income generation: images can be published in calendars, cards, magazines, sold in both local communities and globally through our network.
These provide a means for the children to earn an income through their own efforts.

Gary & Monika Wescott
They have traveled all over the globe over the past 36 years in several iterations of their special overland truck, known as the “Turtle Expedition”
Background in education, journalism, automotive equipment, and photography
Combining a sense of wonder, respect and ability to build relationships has allowed them to become personally involved in many of the communities they visit
