US, China relationship stronger: Obama  Obama said that as two of the world's leading economies both US and China have a special obligation to deal with ensuring strong balance and sustained growth.  Chinese President Hu Jintao pledged to increase dialogue and cooperation with the United States, following a rocky period of trade and currency disputes between the two nations.

  4. 4. Obama: Fed action not designed to weaken dollar  President Barack Obama on Friday disputed claims the US was deliberately weakening the dollar, while accusing China of manipulating its yuan.
  5. 5. Nissan to recall 604,500 vehicles in North America  Nissan Motor Company announced a voluntary safety recall of 604,500 units of three vehicle models sold in the US, Canada and Mexico due to glitches.
  6. 6. G20 unites to fight economic tensions  World leaders said they would work to tackle global economic “tensions & vulnerabilities” that have raised fears of currency wars & trade protectionism.
  7. 7. Chinese leader vows open trade, stable currency  Chinese President Hu Jintao said Saturday that his country will keep its markets open and seek more balanced trade, while gradually adjusting the value of its currency.
  8. 8. Global economic recovery uncertain: China  Chinese President Hu Jintao said on Sunday significant uncertainties remain about a global economic recovery and warned that trade protectionism had "risen notably".
