CASE STUDY Atmos Energy Oracle Identity Manager in the Utilities Vertical In 2008, Partners Consulting was engaged by a large natural gas utility company that engages in the distribution, transmission, and storage of natural gas. The company provides natural gas management and marketing services to municipalities, other local gas distribution companies, and industrial customers in the Southeastern and Midwestern states; and natural gas transportation and storage services to various third parties Centralized Identity Management  Partners Consulting Solutions Division was selected by the company’s executive team to develop their tactical and long-term Identity and Access Management (IAM) solution. Key strategic projects included the implementation of an IAM system for password management, provisioning, and de-provisioning of the companies directory along with multiple databases. CASE STUDY Major Challenges Included  • Business processes were largely undocumented, inconsistent, and very inefficient due to company growth • Business Intelligence around existing accounts was insufficient • Access reviews took an inordinate amount of time and effort to complete • The structure of ActiveDirectory did not conform to the standards required by the OIM AD Connector Oracle Identity Manager  Our customer chose Oracle Identity Manager over other competitors for their provisioning system to address their needs with respect to: • Provisioning and Deprovisioning • Password Self-Service • Access Certification Partners Consulting Enabled Success  • Processes were reengineered using best practices for efficient provisioning and account request use cases • Integrated into several systems including their Oracle HR system as the authoritative source • Developed a custom connector to enable seamless integration with a legacy password management system for systems not onboarded to OIM • Developed an enhanced OIM connector to ActiveDirectory which eliminated the constraints placed on the directory structure by the default connector www.partnersconsulting.com | 1(866) 736.5500
