College courses at Centennial College, for example, make extensive use of the campuses on which they are based. That's because these campus locations are specially designed to cater to the curriculums of the programs that are facilitated from them. Let's take a closer look at some specific benefits of courses at this college. School of Business: Classes within any program in this area include an extensive use of technology such as the latest business software that students will encounter in the field. Additionally, through the addition of guest speakers, students are exposed to the business practices of some of the most reputable corporations in the world. Lastly, some programs within this school offer students the opportunity to attend courses in various locations around the world. School of Transportation: The main feature of any courses within this School is an earn-while-you-learn approach. As such, students spend a certain amount of time on campus learning in labs that are fully equipped with vehicles and then they head into the field to work at an auto body shop and apply everything they have learned to the real world. School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culture: Progress Campus houses the programs within this area. Students enjoy a Culinary Arts Centre that boasts commercial kitchens, Horizons Restaurant where they have an opportunity to cook for and serve real patrons and well as a conference centre that is entirely managed by students. These facilities are used by the courses as living labs. School of Community Health and Studies: Morningside Campus is the backdrop for this School of study. As the most technological of Centennial College's four locations, it houses a host of medical settings including a massage therapy clinic, a spa, simulated hospital rooms, a simulated pharmacy and more. In these classrooms, students attend courses that give them an opportunity to develop practical skills while engaging real clients and patients. This location houses programs as diverse as Journalism, Broadcasting and Film, Advertising, Music Industry Arts and Performance and many others. Although these courses range greatly, they all make use of professional settings within the school such as a 16,500 square-foot television studio, broadcast video, audio and post production facilities, digital imaging labs with the latest software, a library and digital resource centre, and on-site catering and administrative support. School of Engineering and Applied Technology: Labs are used extensively to facilitate this group of college courses. The department consists of Applied Biological and Environmental Sciences (ABES), Information and Communication Engineering Technology (ICET), Advanced Manufacturing and Automation Technology (AMAT), which includes Mathematics and Physics.
