    • Frederick Douglass was born in 1818... a slave.
    •   His master was like a father to him.
    • His master took care of  Douglass and had fun with Douglass all the time...  
    • He took care of  Douglass and had fun with Douglass all the time...   Until he went to live with his grandma.
    • With 11 other kids.
    • For only one year.
    • Because he got sent to live with Aaron Anthony.
    • Then he got sent to live with the Aulds over in baltimore.
    • He asked Sophia Auld (Mr.Auld's daughter) to teach him how to read and write.
    •   She started to teach him but they did not get so far because Mr. Auld broke it up.
    • Later that year Douglass was told that his mother (Harriet Baily) past away.
    • After that he tried to escape.
    • He failed

    • Then the Aulds traded Douglass to Mr. Covey
    • Covey was not a nice master.
