               cancer in 2008

              her dark palette was replaced with
               jewel like color s, high intensity
              turned to imager y that became
               physical and psychol ogi cal therapy

STEP 1 - FOR HOMEWORK:

PLEASE BRING IN ANY
CANDY, CHOCOLATES, SWEETS, TOYS, OR TRINKETS THAT YOU
WOULD CONSIDER PUTTING INTO YOUR PROJECT.

PLEASE KEEP TOYS ITEMS ON THE SMALL SIDE AND THE
TREATS NEED TO BE NON-PERISHABLE.
STEP 2: TECHNIQUE


Watch the demo on
 colored pencil
 techniques and then
 complete the
 colored pencil
 technique art card.
STEP 3,4,5: EXPERIMENT, PLAY, AND
                SKETCH!

 You will get a 6”
  square cardboard card
 experiment with the
  various arrangements
  of your toys and
  candy/treats to create
  an interesting
  composition
 5 thumbnail sketches
  of possible
  compositions in your
  sketchbook
STEP 6: CONFERENCE!

 5 Thumbnail sketches in your sketchbook =
  conference with your teacher to discuss which
  composition is the most successful
STEP 7: CREATING YOUR STILL LIFE

 After your
  conference, you will
  glue your toys and
  treats into a permanent
  sculpture using a hot
  glue gun
 If you do not want to
  hot glue your items
  make sure you trace
  them onto your card so
  you know where they
  are supposed to be!
STEP 8: MAKING A VIEWFINDER

make a gridded         String                Tape
 viewfinder by
 cutting a small
 square out of the
 paper provided and
 then crossing
 thread across your
 viewfinder to create
 4 quadrants.

STEP 9 & 10: GRID AND DRAW!

 Sketch out
  COMPOSITION
 check for proportions
  and placement of your
  toys and treats. Use the
  gridding to help to check
  this
 add color to your
  composition making use
  of the colored pencil
  techniques demonstrated
  as well as referencing
  the technique guide for
  reminders.
