Purpose: Affirming by personal stories and biblical witness that its all too common to be imperfect on our journey of faith. Offering acceptance, hope, and practical help in the way of Jesus. C. Key Feature: personal stories of failure and faith from Artisan people D. Dates: Easter Sunday 3/23; 3/30, 4/6, 4/13 [2008] E. Related Scriptures: 1. Romans 3:23 - “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” 2. Romans 7:15 - “I do not understand my own actions. For I do not do what I want, but I do the very thing I hate.” 3. 2 Corinthians 4:7 - “But we have this treasure in clay jars, so that it may be made clear that this extraordinary power belongs to God and does not come from us.”II. Open Source Outreach Project A. Goals 1. “from attenders to active inviters”: tangibly create ownership among Artisans for inviting their friends and peers 2. “from curious to welcomed guests”: creatively welcome 10-15 guests per group during the Easter message series B. Potential Design Teams 1. South East City Neighborhood(s) 2. Eastman School of Music 3. Rochester Institute of Technology 4. Strong Hospital/University of Rochester C. To Do This Week: Personal Brainstorming a) Start thinking: (1) what would connect with your friends and peers? (2) what would raise their interest in this message series? (3) what would make them comfortable or intrigued to visit an Artisan Church worship service? b) Write a description: How would you describe the typical person your group is trying to invite and welcome? c) Five Raw Ideas: write down ve ideas of ways to “invite” (don’t worry if they’re good, bad, or ugly! :-) (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) 3. Next Sunday 3/2: Group Brainstorming & Design Session a) Morning: Eastman, RIT, Strong/UofR (lunch provided) b) Evening: SE City, possibly Strong/UofR (dinner provided) 4.
