    Positivity - Presentation Transcript

    2. Artistic Statement
      • Deeper meaning isn’t only found in tragedy and destruction. We are surrounded by the Bringers of Bad News, the media. My images are the attempt to portray the fleeting highlights of hot pink joy and peaceful aquamarine on a backdrop of dismal gray and black. Behind every dark corner and lipsticked frown, there is a bit of the antimedia. In capturing that moment, I want to find a burst of joy in the midst of this day of gloom.
      • My work is simple. The photographs that I capture are a statement on the complexity of simplicity. The images are of the hidden moments inside a more negative setting. A smile has the power to conquer despair. They are meant for us to take a moment to be stilled; to watch the joy that usually passes us by unnoticed as we tangle ourselves up in politics and war.
    3. Biography
      • The one constant thing in my childhood was the sunlight. I was born in the sunshine state, moved to a sunny town named Sunnyvale, and finally found myself amidst the most bright and easygoing people I know. Thus, my life is founded and fed with uplifting concepts.
      • I am an explorer. When I create my work I am not afraid of rolling around in the mud if that is what it takes to achieve the image I desire. One of my major inspirations is nature; I find myself drifting toward trees and plants until I catch myself.
      • I began to create art because it made me happy; I continue because it makes a positive affect on viewers. I find the universal aspects of my work are color, solidity, and dominance; these help me to express my self and make a bolder statement to both the viewer and myself. I like photography for its brutal honesty: it shows how things really are. There is only a certain extent to which I can alter the image when and after I take it; it is in essence the truth.
