  3. 3. !$ The future cannot ignore current questions Looking at the future of sports, one has to consider two questions: 1.) What secures today’s level of winter sports achievements? 2.) What could lead to an increase in the present performance? Answering these points one has to take into account several factors. We start with the performance pyramid of competitive sports. Next to the “human factor” the global climatic changes are a crucial aspect for the success of winter sports in the future.
