3. I Love to Draw and Write
My drawings are anime-ish, and my writing is usually realistic fiction. During
semester breaks, I will draw, write, read young adult fiction, and play video
games. I think diversity is sexy, therefore I’m intolerant of intolerance.
(My Deviantart account is Ocachisu)
4. Cooking and Cats
(not together)
I love to cook! I love to make salmon, chicken, haddock, mahi-mahi, turkey, enchiladas, steaks,
beef, pork, lamb, pasta, salads, appetizers, finger-picking meals, snacks, desserts, etc.
Also, I love my eccentric orange cat, Calcifer. He’s named after a character in a 1989 book by
Diana Wynne Jones called Howl’s Moving Castle. Also a good Studio Ghibli movie.
5. My Family
My sister is 8
years older than
me
My brother
(in the back)
is 2 years
younger than
me
My mom
(middle) pretty
much raised
all of us
My 6-year-old
nephew is my
sister’s only
child. He’s half
Turkish-half
Guyanese.
Of course there’s
me, but you
already know
me!
6. Out of my Turkish family, I’m the only one
that shares this old man’s blood but he’s a
father in all my siblings’ hearts (yay!).
He was raised in the Great Depression by a
widowed mother of four and when he
turned 15, he signed up for the Army.
This crazy old fart served in WWII, the
Korean War, and the Vietnam War until he
left because of the atrocities he saw in the
latter.
He earned a doctorate in Theology and
raised my siblings and I to chose our own
religious path in life.
This silly old man tried to vote for Obama
in 2008 before the polls were even open. He
joked about sensitive topics but he was a
progressive thinker. He wanted racial
equality, gender equality, religious equality,
and homo/bisexual equality for all, and he
saw none of these reach their true potential
when he passed on Jan 29, 2013.
(really old)
