  • 2. What is a meta tag?1. The meta tag is a tag that is used in the head element of an HTML file;
  • 3. What is a meta tag?2. It is self-contained and is not an opening/closing tag; and YES <meta charset=“utf-8”> NO <meta> charset=“utf-8”</meta>
  • 4. What is a meta tag?3. It’s browser friendly and can basically be used in most browsers such as Google Chrome, Safari, and Firefox.
  • 5. What does a meta tag do?1. A meta tag can indicate what type of character encoding is being used, such as utf-8; and
  • 6. What does a meta tag do?2. It also allow a web page to become searchable with the use of key words. For example, the word “cat”.
  • 7. This is what a meta tag looks like: <meta charset=“utf-8”>
  • 8. A meta tag can also look like this: <meta name=“description” content=“Cat”>
  • 9. If you don’t want your page to besearchable, you can try this: <meta name=“robots” content=“noindex,nofollow”>
  • 10. A few attributes that can be used witha meta tag:• charset – the type of character encoding.• content – the key words you want searchable.• name – the type of information provided in the content.
