“Two- Bit Matthews was the oldest of the gang
and the wise cracker of bunch.” -> (p.9) He was very
goodat making his own choice, and was responsible of the gang.
“He was about 6 feet tall, stocky in build, and very
proud of his long rusty-colored side burns. He had
gray eyes and a wide grin...”-> (p.9) He was tall, brawny, and
proud of himself.

“he was famous for shop- lifting and his black-
handled switchblade, he was always smarting off
to cops.”-> (p.10) Two-Bit was good at stealing, and knew how to trick
the cops.
“He was so irresistibly funny that he just had to
let the police in on it to brighten up their dull
lives.”-> (p.10) He was so funny that th police got it over with. He
knows how to entertain and interest the cops.

This was very unusua land different from all the boys who liked to play all
the time.

“He just thinks it’s fun to swipe everything that
isn’t nailed down”-> (p.16) Two-Bit enjoys to steal things from the
shops.
“Two- Bit gallantly offered to walk them home--
the west side of town was only about twenty miles
away...”-> (p.37) He was a gentleman despite the fact that he likes to do
bad things like shop- lifting.

“ Two- Bit slapped me a good one across the side
of the head, and hard.” ->When Ponyboy snapped at Johnny.
(p.42) Two-Bit did not like people who harm and say bad things to Johnny,
since he was the youngest. He defended johnny from Ponyboy.

“ Cut your mouth, kid. If you wasn’t Soda’s kid
brother I’d beat the tar out of you. You know better
than to talk to Johnny like that.” -> (p.42- 43) He was very
serious about how people treat Johnny.
“Two- Bit cocked an eyebrow, but it only made
him look more cool. “You mean, if I’m looking for a
good jumping, you out number us, so you’ll give it
to us?Well...” -> (p.45) Ponyboy admired his looks, and he wasn’t
very scared of fighting, since he was famous for his black switchblade.

tore it up (“What is it?”) “Marcia’s number.
Probably a phony one, too. I must have been outa
my mind to ask for it. I think I’m a little soused”-> (p.
46) This tells about his personalities that he make many of smart choices
and does what is right for himself.
