Location✴ The Northern Territory is located in the far northern part of Australia. Darwin (which is the capital city) is located at 12.28 degrees S latitude and 130.50 degrees E longitude.

Climate✴ The climate can be very hot in the Northern Territory. Make sure that you are prepared for the warm weather. Many people feel that the best time to go is in the winter because it is not too hot or not cold. During the winter the temperatures may still vary between 26.6 to 32.2 celsius.

Cities/Towns ✴ Darwin Darwin is near the top of Northern Territory and Darwin is the capital city of Northern Territory. Darwin is also a popular city. ✴ Alice Springs Alice Springs is a popular town near the middle of Northern Territory. It also has a popular landmark called Ayer’s Rock.

Landmarks These are some of the Landmarks Uluru ✴ The landmark in Northern Territory is called Uluru. Uluru is in the Simpson desert. It is southwest of Alice Springs. Uluru is the worlds largest block of stone. Darwin Crocodile Farm ✴ Crocodile Park is the best place in Australia to come face to face with the largest reptiles on the planet which are crocodiles. Upon 30 years of experience in crocodile research the park has over a thousand crocodiles from 30cm long hatchlings to massive adults measuring 4.7m.

Landmarks Kakadu National Park ✴ The Kakadu National Park covers 19,804 square kilometres. It is home to all kinds of wildlife including 50 freshwater species, 60 mammal species, 280 bird species, 1,600 plant species and 10,000 insect species. Kakadu also boasts of four major rivers, the East Alligator River, the Wildman River, the West Alligator River and the South Alligator River.

Landmarks Lake Eyre Basin✴ Lake Eyre Basin is a drainage system which is the largest basin of water in Australia and amongst the largest in the world covering 1,200,000 square kilometres. Lake Eyre is about twice the size of the US state of Texas.

Currency✴ Each Australian dollar (AUD) is divided into 100 cents. Credit cards are widely accepted and ATMs are freely available throughout the country. Banks are generally open 9.30am to 4pm Mondays to Thursdays and 9.30am to 5pm on Fridays, but some banks offer to extend hours and some are open on Saturday mornings.

History✴ The Northern Territory is also home to much of the Australian Aboriginal culture. The Australian Aboriginals are Australias original inhabitants and they have a great culture and history to share with you. These are some Aboriginal paintings:
