    • The layer on rock that forms the outer layer of earth.
    • Facts:
    • *Is very thin
    • *Contains rocks and mountain
    • *Also has plate tectonics
  • 3. LOWER MANTLE…….
    • * The portion of the mantle below a depth of about 600 miles (1000 kilometers). Also known as inner mantle; mesosphere; pallasite shell.
  • 4. P-WAVES
    • *Seismic wave that compresses and expands. Primary wave that move back and forth moves fastest of all the waves and move through solids and liquids.
  • 5. S-WAVES
    • A seismic wave that causes particles of rock to move in a side to side direction.
    • Slower than P-waves moves through solids only
  • 6. Inner core
    • A dense sphere of solid iron and nickel.
  • 7. Outer core
    • A layer of molten iron and nickel
  • 8. Pangaea
    • The name of a super continent
  • 9. lithosphere
    • A thin layer in between crust and mantle
