Cool App Assignment Cool App Assignment Presentation Transcript

    • Marketing in Social Media Cool App Assignment Created by Jan Ahrens [email_address]
    • Overview
        • Points: 25 possible
        • New topic per week
        • Several students per topic
        • 1 topic per student per the course
    • Purpose & Topics
      • Purpose : The purpose of the ‘ Cool App’ project is to bring a contemporary marketing use of that social media to share with the class.
      • Topics:
        • Use of that week’s social media in an interesting and unique way (=app)
        • Must be marketing-oriented (not consumer/user view)
        • NOT intended to be a cool blog or a cool podcast or any of the social media.
        • This can include a new and unique use of technology for marketing purposes.
        • The use does not have to be an “application” in the sense that it is an embedded app in the social media, the term application here is its dictionary meaning – ‘to use or put to a purpose.’
    • 3 Steps
      • Research . Find a relevant Cool App – you can search through your own targeted industry’s social media or any other source.
      • Create Presentation .
        • Create a brief PPT deck of 2-3 slides with talking points.
        • Major highlights and any appropriate graphics.
        • Use any PPT slide design and format that you like.
        • No video is allowed.
        • You may not go to a website or other link during the presentation. You need to embed everything within the PPT deck.
    • 3 Steps
      • Present to Class . The purpose of your presentation is to share with the class a topic or issue you identified. You should relate it to the week’s reading, or reading from the text that we’ve done to-date. You have 3 minutes to present.
        • Slide Outline:
        • Title Slide of Cool App – include the title, perhaps a graphic or photo of it (1 slide)
        • Issue & Analysis – Describe the Cool App. Use terminology from the book and our in-class discussions. Describe the marketing aspect and implications of what you’re showing and why you think it is cool. (1-2 slides)
    • Due Dates Being Successful
      • Due Date
        • Your PPT deck is due the Sunday night prior to your presentation.
        • You may make NO changes to it after this submission. You cannot bring it to class and ask for it to be uploaded on the spot.
        • The submission will likely be made on our SlideShare account.
      • Successful Assignments
          • Be on target for Marketing in Social Media and the current readings.

          • Be well written in PPT with brief bullet points and appropriate graphics.
          • Stay within the constraints of the assignment to be brief.
