  3. 3. Appearance <ul><li>Porcupines are 18kg. </li></ul><ul><li>They are part of the rodent family. </li></ul><ul><li>They have short legs and live 4-10 years. </li></ul><ul><li>They’re 1m.long and have a humped shoulder. </li></ul>
  4. 4. Habitat <ul><li>They spend most of time in the trees and live alone or share a den. </li></ul>
  5. 5. Diet <ul><li>They are herbivores. </li></ul><ul><li>They eat tree bark ,flowers, twigs and plants. </li></ul>
  6. 6. Predators <ul><li>The quills hurt the animals like dogs, red foxes, wolves, cougars and bears. </li></ul><ul><li>They hide from enemies. </li></ul>
  7. 7. Offspring <ul><li>Their babes are born with teeth. </li></ul><ul><li>They are born on a rockpile or a logstump </li></ul><ul><li>They are well developed at berth and they drink there mothers milk. </li></ul>
  8. 8. Adaptation <ul><li>A good sense of smell. </li></ul><ul><li>Big muscular tail for a weapon. </li></ul><ul><li>Long curved claws for digging and feeding. </li></ul>
