Slide 1:Gifs and Jpegs By James Laurenson
Slide 2: Jpegs Are a compressed file format. The picture in the background is an imported jpeg, note the quality.
Slide 3: Gifs Use a different encoding to save the image file. They can also process animated images, but only can encode up to 256 pre-set colours. The picture in the background is an imported gif, note the different quality.
Slide 4: So which to use? Both images have pros and cons. Jpegs can be extremely small file sizes but are quite low quality. Gifs have increased file size but can support animation and don’t lose quality as badly as jpegs.
Slide 5: Verdict If you have and abundance of space then use gifs, otherwise use jpegs.
