Network Functions Virtualization (NFV) is a network architecture concept that proposes using IT virtualization related technologies, to virtualize entire classes of network node functions into building blocks that may be connected, or chained, together to create communication services.
NFV will enable modern technologies specifically for cloud computing. Cloud computing technologies’ core is virtualization mechanism. Virtualization, together with a strong service management platform, can help lower the cost of adding more IT resources to the cloud. Many companies are look at virtualization as an enabler to move from managing individual resources to managing their resource pools as if they were a single server, storage device or application.
