North Sydney Indoor Sports Centre Feasibility and Operations Plan
1. NORTH SYDNEY INDOOR SPORTS
CENTRE CASE STUDY
Project Title: Feasibility and Operations Plan
Client: North Sydney City Council
Project Description
ISFM was commissioned by the North Sydney City Coun-
cil to advise them on the financial feasibility of developing
a new indoor sports centre above a major car park in
Crows Nest (NSW).
In addition, ISFM was asked to undertake the evaluation
and development of an operational structure and man-
agement plan for the proposed centre. At the completion
of the feasibility study, it was concluded that Council
would be required to subsidise the annual operation of
the centre to ensure its viability and be responsible for
the management of the centre.
This management would be undertaken on an under-
standing that the facilities major user, the Northern Sub-
urbs Basketball Association, would enter a long-term
lease and be encouraged to assist in the day-to-day
operation of the centre.
