What Is Hoovers?Hoovers is a list service with over 70 Million North American Business Contacts, and includes allinformation from Dunn & Bradstreet. We have set-up Hoovers to pull contacts, leads and accountsdirectly into salesforce.com.How Will I Use It?You can conduct targeted data mining searches and create lead and prospect lists for 2 reasons: 1. Major Campaigns for new business 2. Getting better insight into who the players are on major projects or accountsTask 1: Building New Prospect / Lead Lists with Hoovers: 1. From the Top-Right Menu inside Salesforce.com, choose the “Hoovers R3” from the list of views: 2. You will now see some tabs including one called “BAL People” this Stands for Build A List. 3. Click on Any of the Horizontal bars to add filter criteria to your list. Here I can click on “Company Location” :

4. Check off the leads you want 5. Choose “Add To Leads”** WARNING: These things cost money, be careful not to accidentally download more than 300 at atime. There is no way to reverse the process (or the charges if this happens).

TASK 2: Getting Account Insights With Hoovers: 1. From the Top-Right Menu inside Salesforce.com, choose the “Hoovers R3” from the list of views: 2. You will now see some tabs including one called “Hoover’s Search” 3. Choose the right company 4. View Details A record will be produced with several key data points:  annual revenue, # employees, public co info,  social media and website info etc..

5. View & Import Key Contacts At the bottom of the record, you will see key contacts. You can then import them as “Contact Records” for existing accounts or as “Leads”** WARNING: These things cost money, be careful not to accidentally download more than 300 at atime. There is no way to reverse the process (or the charges if this happens).
